Right to Refuse Service
Emerald Scribe Proofreading reserves the right to refuse service to anyone whose texts advocate criminal activity (including child pornography) or whose texts condone ethnic, gender, sexual, religious, or disability discrimination.
Payments
Emerald Scribe Proofreading does not accept credit cards. Payments may be made by check or electronic bill pay. Direct deposit is available for business clients.
Electronic Check Recovery
Emerald Scribe Proofreading uses an electronic check recovery service to collect checks returned for insufficient funds. When you provide a check as payment you authorize us to use information from the check to make a one time electronic fund transfer from your account, or to process the payment as a check transaction. You authorize us to collect a fee as indicated below (plus a bank fee charged to Emerald Scribe Proofreading, if allowed by state law) through electronic fund transfer from your account if your payment is returned unpaid.

Individual check writers, please include the following information on your check payments:
Driver’s License or State Identification Card Number,
Full Name,
Street Address, and
Phone Number.
Invoices & Receipts
When texts are completed, clients have thirty (30) days from the invoice date to pay the balance due in full, unless enrolled in an Emerald Scribe Proofreading Payment Plan (ask for details). An invoice, retainer statement, or other timesheet constitutes an acceptance of the texts, meaning that the client considers the work satisfactory and intends to disburse payment. Receipts will be issued by request.
Refunds
Refunds are only available for texts on an open invoice for thirty (30) days past the receipt of the invoice (assumed to be five (5) days from the mailing date, one (1) day from the emailing date for electronic invoices). Orders cannot be refunded after thirty (30) days.
Refunds will not be issued for orders that are labeled incorrectly with the wrong Pen Plan or other order details. All orders are confirmed before work starts. Stopped orders will be billed in part or in whole depending on the degree of completion.
If you feel a refund is warranted, please call or email Emerald Scribe with “Refund Request” in the subject line, and explain why you feel the work was not satisfactory. After contacting Emerald Scribe Proofreading please return the texts for a refund review.
